What I build for you, I also build for myself.
Van Dijk Ontwikkeling started in April 2026 with one goal: building and publishing my own software. I still do. Alongside that I build for small companies, with the same hands and the same standard as my own products.

Founder and developer
Kevin van Dijk
Software engineer with more than three years of experience. Specialised in .NET and Azure, and at home in enough other languages to pick the right one instead of the best-known one.
How it started
I registered Van Dijk Ontwikkeling in April 2026. The first focus was not landing clients, but developing and publishing my own SaaS products: software where I am the client myself, and therefore have no excuse to ship something half-finished.
Layoutr was the first result. A web application that is live, has paying users and was found purely through Google and AI search engines, with no advertising budget.
I apply that same knowledge for small companies. Often organisations that know exactly what they need, but find that no off-the-shelf package covers it.
The last generation that learned it by hand
I learned to program when you still had to work it out line by line. No assistant predicting the answer, just hours with documentation, a debugger and code that only worked on the fifth try. I am probably from the last generation that learned it that way.
That is exactly why I can put AI to good use now. I see what a model gets right and where it goes wrong, because I built the same thing without one first. The tools make me faster and raise what a single developer can take on. The judgement about what ends up in your software stays mine.
What working together looks like
You talk to the developer, not an account manager who passes things along. I prefer working with organisations that stay involved and want a longer collaboration instead of a single one-off job.
Core values
Partnership over transaction
I prefer working with clients who stay involved and think in the long term.
Quality that lasts
Software that doesn't just work on launch day: readable, maintainable, and built to scale.
Flexibility in collaboration
A tight brief or a vague idea: both are a good starting point. I adapt to you, not the other way around.
What I have built so far
Two projects tell it best: one product of my own, and one client who started from zero.
Layoutr
My own SaaS: upload your floor plan, calibrate the scale and place furniture at true size.
